On the Pineapple Express - Kindle Sale & 5-Book Giveaway

To celebrate the early Kindle release of my inspirational, human-trafficking thriller, On the Pineapple Express, I am giving away 5 Kindle copies. If you wish to participate, you can view my VLOG entry below and leave a comment on my blog to let me know you would like to be entered into the drawing for one of the 5 Kindle copies. Winners will be selected in the evening on Sunday, December 15.  Sorry, but printed copies won't be available until the general release on February 28, when all formats will go online.
If you wish to purchase a Kindle copy of On the Pineapple Express, it's on sale for $0.99 on December 15, increasing a dollar a day up to $5.99 on December 20.
I had intended to put up a real VLOG (video blog)  entry today, but the fan on my laptop is making so much noise that it's interfering with the audio. In lieu of a VLOG, I've made a video slide show that introduces me, the story behind the book, and the novel, On the Pineapple Express. It's a bit like a book trailer, but my real trailer will be a lot more professionally done.
On the Pineapple Express is book 2 in my 4-book Pure Genius Series. It reads well as a stand-alone novel, but if you want to hear about the cyber-terrorist incident that brought my hero and heroine together, you can check out book 1, Hide and Seek.
Enjoy the video and be sure to leave a comment and an e-mail address if you want to win a Kindle copy of On the Pineapple Express. Remember, the contest ends Sunday afternoon, December 15. For you print-only readers, there will be more opportunities to win a copy in early March.

Video of the story behind the book and a blurb about the story.

Merry Christmas!

    1. Thanks for your interest, Jackie. I wrote this story over 3 years ago. It starts a little slower than I prefer, but once it takes off it's a wild ride. You can read a little more about the background in an interview another PBG author posted today: Interview on Sleuths and Suspects

  4. Thank you for offering a chance to win your book. It sounds like you have done a good job in handling a delicate subject so that anyone can read the book and gain better understanding about this horrid and complicated issue.

    1. You're entered, Paul. Nearly all of the large cities, like Atlanta, are plagued with trafficking. It's so profitable that drug dealers and arms dealers are incorporating it into their operations. But some smaller cities have been hit extremely hard too, for example, Southwestern Washington State, where one county lost 3,000 girls in one year.

  10. Very Interesting H.L. I had written on a similar subject in 1992 set in 1981 and have sat on the MS for over 21 years unsure when or how to pursue its publication. I recently read the true story of Dawn Schiller who at 15 was groomed by John Holmes into the sex industry in her book 'The Road To Wonderland,' on the peripheral of the Wonderland Murders in LA (depicted in the films of Boogie Nights [1997] and Wonderland [2003]). Her true story accounts are warnings to parents and children for 'at risk' teens. I had suggested to Dawn (in e-mail correspondence) Christian Fiction was a noble vehicle to educate and inform as well as influence readers providing alternative influences (and plots) for 'a way of escape.' I'm therefore glad to know about your book and story. Yes, I'd like a copy from the drawing and will recommend the book to Dawn as what's possible within the genre of Christian Fiction and will keep it in mind as I revisit my MS in 2014 in a revised edit. Thank you for the promotional awareness of your topic and book. You can e-mail tvproducersm@gmail.com. Steve.

    1. Yes, this problem has been with us for a long, long time. But, following the commercialization of the Internet, it exploded. I tried to tell an adventure story that paints a picture of only a part of this "industry," reserving the details about the most common dangers of trafficking for the epilogue of the book. Otherwise it would be a 300-page "downer" that might not be read by as many people. That was my strategy. Hope it works.
